TIME OF LOVE
I have composed this piece in 1977, before beginning the studies of composition. I have tried to describe, as the name of the piece means, the period of falling in love in which you have the impression to pass from a colorless and meaningless existence (introduction in Bb minor) to a full and unconditional happiness (theme in Bb major). The two slowest episodes represent moments of a personal experience: the first one has a sweet and dreamy character, while the second describes the showing of the deception: when the still alive memory of an exciting feeling merges itself to the awareness of the betrayal (in the sense that they arent realized) of the expectations, producing a yearning and melancholy, but not desperate, feeling.
The piece finishes anyway with a still more passionate reprise of the theme, in the conviction (or, if you prefer, in the illusion) that not fulfil hopes arent the end of the matter in the life.
As it regards the style of this composition you can notice some influence of Chopin, even if harmony is very simpler and schematic. To notice, to the measures 48-51, the use of the scale tone-semitone
