CHILDREN’S RHAPSODY

At times the children love always to hear the same fables or the same musics. So, when my children had, as a present, a cassette containing songs as “Old McDonald had a farm” or “The three piglets”, for some time they wanted to listen nothing else. Exhausted from this huge torture, always tormented from the same melodies, I hoped to be able to at least vary them.
The attempt miserably failed (woe to change a note of a music or a word of a fable: the childrens don’t appreciate the variations); however the result has been this rhapsody just based on melodies of songs for children (besides the two already quoted, there is a reference to “Hooray for tomato soup”).
The piece, in dorian click to know more about musical scales mode and mainly based on fourth chords click to know more about chords, is rich of dissonances, you use nevertheless in very hard way in comparison to the first variation on a theme of Gino Palumbo. The result is, also thanks to the rhythm of the piece, a little jazz.
