FANTASIA IN A MAJOR

This piece, for some way a bit Brahmsian, date back to 1981 and founds itself on an only theme: accompanied by the piano in the exposition in A major, it gives then rise to a canon in F major that accentuates its passionate and romantic character, to later become more graceful (almost a waltz), in the tonality of F# major. When the theme is proposed by the alone piano in F# minor, the contrast among the joy that shone through from the dialogue among the two instruments (almost as if they were two persons in love) and the sadness of the loneliness is evident, now that the violin keeps silent. Finally the theme is resumed in the original tonality, to close with a brief coda.
It can be used as second movement of the sonata in B minor, that ends with the rondò.
